Roadshow at Southport, Holy Trinity Church

You are cordially invited to our first Roadshow for the 2012 season which will be held at Southport, Holy Trinity Church on Saturday 10th March from 10:00 until 16:00.

The founder of Makin, Mr John Pilling, was organist at this church for many years and it is fitting that perhaps the best ever Makin organ built was installed there in late 2010. Designed, built and voiced in close consultation with the present organist Ian Wells (ex Liverpool Cathedral) and our tonal consultant Professor Ian Tracey, this four manual organ is one not to miss. You can download the specification here.

In addition to this instrument, the church also has a smaller Makin organ, installed in 2002, which was designed for concert use in the nave. We will be bringing with us several other instruments including the all new Studio 170 home practice organ from Johannus, a Vivaldi 27, a Makin Westmorland Village and we hope and expect to have with us the new Copeman Hart touring organ we are currently building.

As if this is not enough to tempt you to come along, we will also be selling a wide variety of organ music from publishers including OUP, Kevin Mayhew, Animus and Spartan Press.

Please send an e-mail to roadshows@makinorgans.co.uk or call 01706 888 100 to register or to receive additional information. The church is located on Hoghton Street at the junction with Church Street in Southport. Whilst the event is free to attend, we’d like to have ideas for numbers planning to attend so we can plan for food accordingly.

Please do pass on this message to your organist friends who may be interested in attending.
