The recently appointed organist, Ian Wells (ex Liverpool Cathedral) has worked with Professor Ian Tracey and Makin staff to design a new four manual organ which will be installed in the autumn of 2010. Currently in production, the instrument will have a total of seventy four speaking stops including a floating west end division to aid in congregational singing and to provide special antiphonal effects.
Managing Director of Makin Organs, Dr Keith Harrington is particularly delighted to be awarded with this contract since the founder of Makin Organs, Mr John Pilling, was the organist at Holy Trinity for many years. Harrington commented “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Ian Wells and Ian Tracey in developing what we consider to be the perfect specification to meet the needs of the church. This will be a very exciting instrument which will help Ian develop music both in the parish, the town and region as a whole.”
