Our 9th annual ‘Sounds of the Summer concert’ featuring Professor Ian Tracey at our Mixbury showroom on Saturday 7th May was one to remember for the 80 plus people who attended for the day. They were treated to four mini recitals on five different organs including the Makin ‘Gigue’ and ‘Thirlmere’, the Copeman Hart ‘Tourer’, the Rodgers ‘Infinity’ and the revolutionary ‘LiVE’ from Johannus. The attendees, who were a mixture of customers and prospective customers, gave a resounding ‘thumbs up’ to what they heard and saw with a good number of incredibly positive reviews of instruments mixed in with general letters on thanks.
The wonderful weather allowed us to fully enjoy the surroundings with our traditional buffet lunch out in the courtyard where our marquee contained a wide range of sheet organ music, CDs , DVDs and much more. The event raised over £600 to the ‘Liverpool Organ Appeal’ for the restoration of the Cathedral Organ.
On the day, Managing Director Keith Harrington presented Upgrade Manager Steve Bell with a long term service award in recognition for twenty five years exceptional service with Copeman Hart and Company.
Next year, the event will be held on Saturday 6th May 2017; prior to that, our ‘Autumn Shades’ concert in Shaw in on Saturday 1st October 2016 for which tickets, as a donation to the appeal, are available at £10.00 each.
