Chester Cathedral Battle of the Organs recorded

A friendly ‘Battle of the Organs’ was held at Chester Cathedral on 31st January 2015 featuring Nigel Ogden (The Organist Entertains) and resident cathedral organists Philip Rushforth, Benjamin Chewter and Geoffrey Woollatt playing the cathedral instrument, a continuo organ from David Wells Organ Builders, a 3 manual Makin custom instrument and our three manual Copeman Hart touring organ. The recital, in aid of the organ rebuilding appeal, was well attended with the audience thoroughly enjoying a wide range of music, browsing and buying sheet organ music, OrganMaster shoes and organist’s keyrings.

Highlights of the recital will be broadcast at 23:00 on the Thursday 19th February edition of the organist entertains on BBC Radio 2.
